GAGU COLLECTION
“GAGU COLLECTION” sheds light on Korean furniture designers—an often overlooked group in the furniture design industry. This exhibition highlights six Korean designers, exploring their innovative approaches to materials, storytelling, and craftsmanship.
Throughout the design process, I drew inspiration from the form and versatility of Hangeul (the Korean alphabet). Hangeul can be read either left to right and top to bottom. I noticed that these structural qualities mirrored elements of furniture design, which influenced my approach across various applications. Thus shaping the overall visual identity of the exhibition.

Lockup
The exhibit’s lockup plays with Korean letterforms. The combination of Roman and Korean characters creates a visual scene that reflects the exhibit’s concept. “가구” translates to furniture. The typographic approach also symbolizes how Korean furniture design can transcend borders and reach audiences in other regions.
